Google Is Now Public Enemy One For Many With Disabilities

Last week’s announcement that Google was killing off Slide, the apps development company it purchased last year, has disappointed one group of individuals on top of all others. Fans of SuperPoke! Pets, many who suffer from disabilities, are lashing out against the tech giant, according to The Washington Post.

First launched in April 2008, SuperPoke! Pets lets users take care of virtual pets. Apparently, the game is quite popular with those that cannot take care of actual pets, such as those that are homebound and disabled.

Kahmate ($ 3.99) by Id&aL is a port of the excellent rugby-themed board game of the same name to the iPhone.

The app retains all the cardboard pounding fun of the original, making it even easier to setup, play, and enjoy Kahmate in a digital form.

As a board game, Kahmate translates the rules of rugby into a tile-based format that’s easy to understand and engaging to play. Users move pieces about an arena-shaped game board, capitalizing on each unit’s special strengths and weaknesses to score tries. For the uninitiated, that’s a goal in rugby.

Pet Fair Is An Addictive And Free Micromanager For iOS

Pet Fair™ by PlayCoMo, Inc icon

Pet Fair™ (Free) by PlayCoMo, Inc brings small-time fair management and pet handling to the iPhone and iPad.

The never-ending chain of upgrades and theme decorations keeps the ball rolling, while the adorable graphics make the whole package easy on the eyes. The copious in-app purchases (and less than pleasing pacing) damage the experience a bit, but hardly enough to detract from this free app’s value.

IMG_0172

Like other micromanagement apps available in the App Store, Pet Fair allows users to build their own fair from the ground up, constructing buildings, clearing pastures, and adding decorations with the cash and experience they accumulate. In this sense, the gameplay is most similar to apps like “Smurfs’ Village,” or even the recently popular “Tiny Tower.”
