Happy November 5, to my friends across the ocean. In commemoration of the gun powder treason, I’m reviewing the Guy Fawkes Camera. What’s so important about today? Well, I’m so glad you asked that, because I happen to know something about another culture for once. After reading enough books about the British monarchy to make my literature teachers jealous, I’m pretty familiar with this subject. So, sit back for a little bit of history and culture from me. It doesn’t happen too often.

Dark Meadow ($ 5.99) by Phosphor Games Studio, LLC is a first person game that will suck you in from beginning to end. It is a fantastic collaboration of RPG meets room escape meets Half Life, Portal, and Infinity Blade — all rolled into one. And it is amazing. I have, admittedly, not been able to put this game down since I’ve gotten my curious hands on it.

Right away you are met by the visually stunning 3D graphics and cinematics. They will draw you in to the world of Dark Meadow immediately, and the captivating storyline will keep you there — whether you want to stay or not.

If you were disappointed by the fact that Apple has made Siri an exclusive iPhone 4S feature, there is still some hope for you. We’re being told that there is still a chance that Apple will be bringing the feature to older iDevices such as the iPhone 4.

Indeed, as revealed by the folks at Jailbreaknation, Apple is still considering releasing Siri on the iPhone 4 and  went as far as installing a special built of iOS 5 that includes Siri on a number of Apple employee’s iPhone 4 recently to test it out for a few days. The news, comes from a source of Jailbreaknation close to Apple, which they were kind enough to let us verify, and it does appear to be legitimate.

They aren’t Mario and Luigi but we have some plumbers that need your help. In today’s puzzler offering, help assemble the pipes so that the Flooze can flow to the proper location. Speaking of cartoony sorts of things, we have an app that turns your child into a cartoonist It’s both an entertaining and educational experience. Life isn’t all fun and games, but sharing and otherwise moving photos and notes around doesn’t need to be hard work. One of today’s slick apps allows you to push photos from your iPad to Dropbox and more with just a quick and simple swipe.

It reminds me a bit of Abca, with its industrial-style graphics and fun challenging gameplay, but W.E.L.D.E.R. is a bit different. Let’s get this out of the way — the name is a bit silly. It stands for Word Examination Laboratory for Dynamic Extraction and Reassessment. Groan. But don’t let that fool you. This is a sophisticated word game for serious word puzzle fans. Game Center integration adds to the fun.

Sometimes we don’t want to just play games to play them. Sometimes we want more of a challenge. The App Store is filled with puzzle games that come in all shapes and sizes. These are the best of the best — the must-have apps that will satisfy that part of you that needs the challenge.

Read ($ 2.99) by Maximilian Mackh is a bare bones reader.

The main screen offers categories from news to sports, with a variety of websites and blogs for each category. A database is available for adding your favorite sites that don’t happen to come included with the app.

If your favorite site isn’t there, you can send a request within the app to the developers. The app’s site mentions that the developers are adding more sites to it every day.
